Entry fee:

  • Friday: 4 (entry free for players without the FESA ranking: 1 €)
  • Saturday & Sunday: 8 (entry free for players without the FESA ranking: 2 €)
  • no entry fee for observers!
  • no entry fee for Madoka Kitao's workshops!

The Friday's football match will be held on a football field nearby the venue.

Thursday, June 4th, 2015
    18:00 - 21:00 Simultaneous teaching games and a visit to Wrocław's Shogi Club (NAMI Foundation, Energetyczna street 14) by Madoka Kitao

Friday, June 5th, 2015

    10:00 - 13:00 Dobutsu Shogi workshop and tournament by the author of the game, professional shogi player Madoka Kitao!

    13:00 - 15:00 Japanese abacus (soroban) workshop by Chie Ishikawa, japanese martial arts' workshops, origami etc.

    15:00 - 16:30 team (3 people) tournament, 5 min + 30 sec byo-yomi, single-elimination tournament, 3 or 4 rounds (depending on the number of teams)

    16:30 - 18:00 blitz tournament, 7 min absolute time (no byo-yomi), 6 or 7 rounds

    18:00 - 20:00 friendly football match between shogi players and the Japanese residing in Poland

    20:00 - 22:00 integrative party

   10:00 - 11:00 "A method for teaching shogi" -- a workshop for shogi instructors by Madoka Kitao

   11:00 - 11:30 "The culture of shogi and handling of shogi pieces" -- a lecture by Madoka Kitao

   11:30 - 12:00 Registration for Polish Shogi Championship (single-elimination tournament for 8 top-ranked Polish players) and Polish Open Shogi Championship (7 rounds, swiss tournament), 30 min + 40 sec byo-yomi thinking time

   12:00 - 12:30 Official opening of the Polish Shogi Championships

   12:30 - 14:00 1st round Open, quarter-finals of Polish Shogi Championship

   14:00 - 15:30 2nd round Open, semi-finals of Polish Shogi Championship

   15:30 - 16:30 Dinner break

   16:30 - 18:00 3rd round Open, final of Polish Shogi Championships

   18:00 - 19:30 4th round Open

   20:00 - 22:00 Discussion on the future Polish shogi activities, a departure to the city center, friendly chat & games
